In preparation for our extensive and intensive deep dive into World Religions class that will begin in November, we will have a book study in September of the book Holy Envy by Barbara Brown Taylor. This is an amazing book that explores finding beauty, truth, and even the divine within religious traditions other than one’s own. 

In the book, the author recounts her experience teaching world religions to undergraduates in rural Georgia and explores the idea that God is “out-of-bounds” and cannot be contained by any single religion. This book will be a wonderful preparation for our World Religions course as it encourages us to hold our religion lightly and view it as a lens to see God rather than the only source of truth.
