Back in 1945 a small group gathered at a home in Magnolia and decided to form a church. A few months later they created Articles of Incorporation, called their first minister, purchased five lots in Magnolia at our current location on McGraw Street and began construction on the building. Just two years later, we held our first worship service in our building. That year, we also began to sponsor Scout Troop 80, a relationship that continues to this day!
Over the years, MUCC has expanded the original building (by adding in an additional wing, called a variety of ministers, been an active force for service in our community, struggled to discern our response to issues of justice and tried to be a progressive voice for love and compassion in our community.
Currently MUCC partners with many amazing organizations in our community. We are honored to host the Magnolia Cooperative Preschool which we have for decades – as well as host and sponsor several large Scouting Troops. On any given night you can find community meetings occurring or troops of kids working on projects. MUCC is an active bunch!
From game nights, yoga, community gatherings, knitting clubs and more – MUCC is honored to continue to be a gathering place of love and compassion in this community!
