This special Bible Study will take a look at the bible passages that have historically been used to both demonize and regulate the LGBTQ+ community. We’ll look at translations, context and biblical scholarship. We’ll also take a look at other passages that have the potential to broadly challenge traditional biblical approaches for the LGBTQ+ community.
Here is a general overview of the class (no need to read ahead any of the scriptures we’ll study, we’ll review them together in class):

- Week 2 (10/14) -Sodom and Gomorrah, Esau and Jacob, Joseph and his Technicolor Coat
- Week 3 (10/21) -Leviticus, Ruth and Naomi, David & Jonathan, Eunuchs in the Ancient World
- Week 4 (10/28) -Isaiah, What’s in a Name, Danial
- Week 5 (11/4) -Jesus and Homosexuality and Gender, Matthew 19, The Story of the Centurian
- Week 6 (11/11) -John and Looking again at Nicodemus and the Beloved Disciple, Acts and the Ethiopian Eunuch
- Week 7 (11/18) -Paul, Romans, 1st Corinthians/1st Timothy, Galatians
- Week 8 (11/25) -Overflow Week if needed
